YOUNG MUSICIANS from across the UK will flock to Bromsgrove this February to audition for the ninth annual Bromsgrove Young Musicians’ Platform competition, writes Gabrielle Brown.
Musicians who are at school and a resident of the UK aged 9-13 for will compete in the junior category for a chance to win a £750 bursary and those aged between 14-17 in the senior category for £1000 to buy lessons, sheet music or a new instrument.
Closed auditions which will take place on the 22nd and 23rd of February ready for the final in Routh Concert Hall at Bromsgrove school on Saturday 31st May.
There is also £400 available for the runner up in each category.
Platform’s sister competition The Bromsgrove International Musicians Competition is open to instrumentalists and pianists of all nationalities aged 18 to 25 or 28 for singers and will run from 26th-31st May.
It is hoped that 2025 will be a successful year for the Platform and The Bromsgrove international competition for all those who enter.
