THE FIRST ever Walking Rounders session in the world took place on the Bromsgrove Hockey, Cricket and Tennis Club Astroturf on Monday.
A total of 29 players turned out to play the game, along with two representatives from Rounders England who brought some ideas for this new-to-be-developed sport.
Alan said: “Some worked and some didn’t – the game evolved throughout the session and by the end we had a kind of final version but it will continue to evolve further.”
Rounders England thanked Alan and everyone who took part and said there were ‘exciting times ahead’ for the sport.
The next sessions will be after Easter – two morning ones on Mondays and Fridays and an evening session in North Bromsgrove High School’s sports hall on Friday nights.
