Works in Bromsgrove town centre to last 26 weeks and lead to road closures

Bromsgrove Editorial 31st Mar, 2024   0

WORKS are due to start on the south end of Bromsgrove High Street from April 15.

The work, outside pedestrian areas, is being carried out by Worcestershire County Council in partnership with Bromsgrove District Council.

Improvements will be carried out on the eastern footway such as upgrading the paving to complement the rest of the High Street, new street trees, cycle parking, and benches will be introduced. Drainage will be improved and ‘street clutter’ will be removed – the council says.

The works will lead to a one-way closure from Monday to Friday with the road closed to traffic in the eastbound direction for 26 weeks to allow the works to take place.

A diversion route will be in place.

The road will be fully open at weekends and pedestrian and vehicular access will be maintained to minimise disruptions to residents, businesses, and visitors in the area.
