THE HEREFORD and Worcestershire Health and care NHS Trust has been recognised for the support it gives to newly registered clinicians.

The trust’s community multi-professional preceptorship programme has been nominated for the ‘Nurse Education Provider of the Year’ category at the Nursing Times Awards.

The trust earned the National Preceptorship Nursing Interim Quality Mark from NHS England in 2023, which is recognised as the gold standard among newly registered nursing staff.

Clinical practice development lead, Tom Challacombe, said: “Preceptorship is an important part of a newly registered clinician’s career journey and I’m very proud our programme is being recognised.”

“If we take care of our new starters, they will feel invested in, valued and be even greater advocates for our patients.

“It’s why we have designed a high-quality preceptorship programme to provide a structured period of transition, support, and great opportunities to grow here.”

In Worcestershire, the trust runs mental health units and several hospitals across the county, including the Princess of Wales Community Hospital in Bromsgrove, Malvern Community Hospital and Pershore Community Hospital.

Interested candidates can learn more about career opportunities at Herefordshire and Ludlow College in Hereford from 11am to 3pm on Wednesday, February 21.
