A WORCESTERSHIRE charity has opened its annual fund for community projects across the county.
Causes are invited to apply for up to £6,000 for projects which align with Prime Foundation’s aims of improving education, physical and mental health and social wellbeing at a local level.
The Foundation invests in communities where Prime, a health and care property developer, has built new facilities using a proportion of profits from developments.
Previous funding recipients include schools, scout groups, a theatre group, sports groups, community groups, respite care providers and a variety of community support causes.
In 2024 1st Redditch Scout Group successfully applied for funding for a training defibrillator and choking vest for use in emergency aid training.
The group’s Scout Leader, Sallie-Ann Eaton, said: “We have really benefited from the equipment this grant allowed us to purchase.
“We have been able to show our Scouts there’s nothing to be afraid of when using a defibrillator so they know, should the need arise, they could help someone.
“The choke vest trainer was great fun but provided the Scouts will real life experience on how to save a life if someone was choking that our explaining in words previously could never have achieved.”
Charities, community groups and CICs are all welcome to apply.
Hannah Cashmore, trustee of the Prime Foundation, said: “We’ve witnessed the profound impact of our funding on local groups year-on-year, and we’re eager to open applications for community-led projects once again.
“We look forward to reviewing submissions and continuing to invest in the wellbeing of our local community.”
