A WOMAN was taken to hospital yesterday after a car overturned in Northfield.

It happened around 5.40pm at the junction of Taesfield Road and Merritts Brook Road.

The black car hit a metal barrier barrier, flipped over and ended up on its roof.

The woman, who was driving, managed to get herself out before the ambulance arrived.

She was treated at the scene for injuries not believed to be life-threatening and was taken to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Fire crews from Northfield and West Midlands Police were also in attendance.
