Woman in her 80s has large amount of cash stolen in bag snatch at Bromsgrove bus stop

A WOMAN in her 80s had a large quantity of cash stolen when her bag was snatched in Bromsgrove.

The victim was waiting at a bus stop at the junction of Humphrey Avenue and Lyttleton Avenue, Charford, at midday on Wednesday when a young woman in her 20s approached the pair and enquired about the bus.

A minute later, the woman grabbed the handbag and ran off into Bishop Hall Crescent.

The pair were left shocked but were not injured physically.




The suspect is 5ft 6ins tall, with shoulder-length mousey brown hair. She was wearing a black raincoat, black trousers or leggings, and black suede shoes with a diamonte on the front.

The handbag, described as being medium to large in size, was made of black leather, with two handles and a zip down the middle. It also had a chunky metal-fastening clasp, was recovered later but the cash was missing.
