A WOMAN suffered serious injuries after being hit by a van in Chaddesley Corbett yesterday morning.
The collision – involving a white Mercedes panel van – happened at 9.45am at the junction of the A448 and Fox Lane.
The van, driven by a man in his 20s, was travelling along the A448 and slowed to allow a small van to pull into Fox Lane before continuing towards Bromsgrove.
The pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, was crossing the road to the paved side of the A448 when the collision with the Mercedes van occurred.
Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham and a BASICS trauma doctor were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said medics treated the woman, for serious injuries before she was taken to hospital for further treatment.
Officers would like to talk to the driver of the small van (a new shape Peugeot Bipper) which was turning into Fox Lane.
Although not involved in the collision, officers think the driver of the second van may have information which could help shed light on what happened.
Police have also appealed for witnesses or anyone who captured the incident on dash cam to contact PC Kevan McNamee on 07817 951834.
