West Midlands Ambulance Service's paramedic job advert viewed by 20,000 people

THE LATEST recruitment drive by West Midlands Ambulance Service to find the paramedics of the future captured the interest of almost 20,000 people.

A total of 19,766 viewed the vacancy and there were more than 1,300 applications. 655 are now being read through by the recruitment team with 714 rejected as they did not meet the criteria.

The trust’s recruitment manager Louise Harris put it down to the success of TV programmes, such as the BBC’s Ambulance, along with 999 On the Frontline and Inside the Ambulance.

“We have seen people apply from all different communities and ages which is really positive news for us because it means we get a really good variety of people from all walks of life, area, ethnic group and community which can only be good for the service.”




Loads of people also requested information on the vacancy via West Midlands Ambulance Service’s social media channels, including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

“The next step for my team is to process the applications and shortlist candidates for the assessment day which will take place next Saturday, August 4.


“Thank you to everyone for your interest in the role and good luck to the applicants.”
