WEEK of Remembrance-themed events have been held at the Polly Put the Kettle On tea room in Rubery.

The staff dressed in 1940s clothes and there has been a ‘heroes board’ displaying details of soldiers from the area who fought in the two World Wars and other conflicts.

Residents have been providing information about their relatives, including one woman from Devon whose family member lived in Rubery and fought in The Great War.

Owner Susan O’Leary has also made a special ‘Rubery remembers’ commemorative cake.

On Sunday the tea room will be open from 9am to 4pm for people to view the exhibition and enjoy a traditional cream tea.
