A WEATHER warning has been issued for thunderstorms and heavy showers across the Midlands.
The weather is set to turn around 1am tomorrow morning (Thursday) with the yellow weather warning from the Met Office then in place for the rest of the day.
Soaring temperatures with the mercury soaring to 28°C has led to high pressure which could bring on the stormy weather.
The south-east is most likely to be affected but, the Met Office says, it could extend to central regions.
People are being urged to be on their guard as spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
There may be delays and cancellations to rail and bus services and some homes or businesses could fall victim to flash flooding.
Power cuts are also a possibility,
There is a small risk of 60mm worth of rain falling within two to three hours.
