BROMSGROVE, Rubery and south Birmingham are set to be battered by high winds and heavy rain as Storm Isha arrives in the UK.

According to the Met Office, which has issued a yellow weather warning, the winds could reach close to 30mph this afternoon, with gusts of more than 50mph later tonight.

Heavy rain is also set to move in from around 3pm through to the early hours of Monday morning.

The Met Office says there could be some damage to buildings, such as roofs being damage, the risk of injury from flying debris and there could be power cuts.

Road and rail will also be affected with longer journey times, and maybe delays and cancellations, possible. If people are travelling, it is suggested they allow more time for their journeys and take care when on the roads.

Residents should also secure items in their garden, including plant pots, garden furniture and trampolines, in case they get caught by the gusts.
