WASELEY Hills Country Park will raise the Green Flag after winning the coveted international award given to parks and green spaces.

The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy and the governments Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, rewards well-managed parks and green spaces.

And sets the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.

Councillor Marcus Hart, Worcestershire County Council’s cabinet member with responsibility for communities said: “I am delighted to hear that three of our countryside sites have once again earned Green Flag Awards.

“They are a huge part of what makes our county so special for residents and visitors alike, providing opportunities to lead healthy outdoor lifestyles.

“I am so proud of the team and our incredible volunteers and would like to congratulate them on this huge achievement.

“They are the real success story behind the awards as they work tirelessly to look after our green spaces and continue to support the wonderful countryside in Worcestershire.

“The spaces would not be the same without them and I would like to thank them for everything they do.”
