Warning to businesses after two men tried to pass off fake £50 note at Rednal pub

BUSINESSES in Rubery, Rednal and Frankley are being warned to be on their guard after two men tried to buy drinks with a fake £50 note.

The pair tried to use the counterfeit currency at The Oak Tree, Lickey Road, Rednal, at 2.15pm on Saturday.

One of the men was around 5ft 11ins tall, had ginger hair and was wearing a green body warmer and grey T-shirt.

The second was about 5ft 7ins and had dark hair which was gelled back.




Both had Irish accents.

Shops and pubs in the area are being urged to check notes carefully.


Anyone with any information or anyone who has had also encountered fake notes should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
