Warning to Bromsgrove residents after three bogus callers duped elderly couple living with dementia to gain access to their home

Bromsgrove Editorial 22nd Jul, 2019   0

A WARNING has gone out to Bromsgrove residents after an elderly couple suffering dementia fell victim to bogus callers, claiming to be working for a water company.

The three men, all dressed in high-visibility vests, turned up at the pensioners’ home on the Birmingham Road on Thursday evening.

Whilst two of the men distracted the couple, the third man made his way into the upstairs of the property.

The pair do not know yet if anything has been taken but the incident has left them severely shaken.

Residents who have elderly relatives and neighbours are being urged to speak to them about the incident and to warn them not to be duped in the same way.

Witnesses to Thursday evening’s scam or anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
