Walks for Health take place each week in Bromsgrove

Bromsgrove Editorial 9th Feb, 2020   0

PEOPLE can get fit and take in some fresh air during the weekly guided walks organised by Bromsgrove District Council.

The BHI Parkside strolls will take residents around the ‘trim trail’ at BHI Parkside, Stourbridge Road.

The free Sessions, part of the national ‘Walks for Health Scheme’, are led by a trained walk leader who will also teach participants how to use the fitness equipment outside BHI Parkside in the correct way.

Physical activity development officer Hayley Gwilliam said: “As well as being an ideal form of exercise, regular walking can help reduce the risk of heart disease, lower blood pressure, improve blood cholesterol levels and help control diabetes.

“It is perfect for people who are just starting out on their fitness journey or need more gentle exercises due to health conditions or low mobility.”

She urged people to ‘love their life’ this February, meet like-minded people and have lots of fun at the same time. The walks take place every Tuesday at 11am outside BHI Parkside Centre for the next ten weeks.
