POLL cars are set to begin landing on residents’ doorsteps next week ahead of May’s elections.
Bromsgrove voters will decide on the new West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner with the election taking place on May 2.
Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm (Thursday, May 2).
Residents are being urged to check their polling station on their poll card ahead of the election to reduce the possibility of any issues casting their vote.
Electoral services manager, Darren Whitney, said: “The Electoral Services Team are encouraging everyone in the Borough to make sure they attend the right polling station in order to cast their vote, without any delays.
“If you cannot attend in person, you may be able to apply to vote by post or apply to have someone vote on your behalf as a proxy.”
Voters are also reminded that they need to bring ID with them to be allowed to vote in these elections. Acceptable forms of ID need to have a photo on them such as a passport or photo driving licence.
If you do not have access to ID which meets the requirements for the new regulations, you are entitled to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate from the Government
This is a form of photo ID which will allow you to vote in elections, all you need in order to apply is a recent photo of yourself and your National Insurance Number.
