CAN’T Touch This! – The latest Bromsgrove District Council TikTok star has been cutting some shapes in Sanders Park to get the authority’s latest social distancing message across.
Frank Wilcox, who works in the parks department, rose to the occasion when asked for ideas to encourage people to use the council’s parks and open spaces safely and sensibly.
The video is part of a new ‘Frankie Says…’ campaign, based on the 80s slogan to remind residents what they should and shouldn’t be doing under current restrictions.
The first in the series saw ‘Frankie’ mowing a 2m slogan into the grass at a park and another, based on MC Hammer’s ‘Can’t Touch This’, reminded residents not to touch or use play areas and public exercise equipment as they enjoy the outdoors.
Frankie says…play areas are still closed! So please don't use them. Use our parks for exercise, wellbeing and recreation, but PLEASE stay off play or gym equipment to reduce the spread of #covid19. #Coronavirus #FrankieSays #Relax #FrankiesBack #PlayAreas #CantTouchThis

With tens of thousands of views on social media already, there’s plenty more videos and communications planned – but Frank is taking the new-found fame in his stride.
He said: “This is something I have just done for myself, friends and family before – and I can’t believe the videos are such a hit.
“And it’s good they can be used to remind people how they can keep themselves and each other safe.”
Coun Karen May, Leader of Bromsgrove District Council, said: “There is a lot of information going round at the moment about what you can and can’t do.
“At a time when everyone is concerned and worried about what’s happening in the world it’s nice to be able to create something to make them smile but still get really important messages across.
“That’s exactly what Frank and colleagues have done with these videos.
“Well done.”
