MORE THAN 300 people gathered in Bromsgrove High Street today, near the Odd Fellow Memorial, to mark Armistice Day.
The annual parade, to commemorate the end of the First World War, takes place at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month.
After an introduction by Town Crier Kevin Ward, a short service was led by Rev Ray Khan.
The event was organised by the Bromsgrove Royal British Legion and the Bromsgrove School Combined Cadet Force also took part in the service.
After the ‘For the Fallen’ poem was read by former Royal Marine and RBL member Bert Sherwood, the Last Post was played and a two-minute silence was observed before the Reveille.
Rev Khan said: “It was a really good turn-out, the silence was impeccably observed and it was also great that the Bromsgrove School CCF came down – that was a really nice surprise.”
