RESIDENTS wanting a romantic night with their partners can go along to a charity Valentine’s dinner dance on Friday (February 17) at 8pm at The Hanbury Turn.

The event will raise funds for the St Michaels and All Angels Church Tower Restoration Fund which is hoping to raise £150,000

More than £30,000 has already been collected.

Entertainment will be provided by Bromsgrove’s own Kipper Kendall who is fresh from his world tour and 1960s recording artist Billy Rocko.

Tickets. which include a three-course meal as well as the entertainment, are £15 per person.

They are available, in advance only, from parish councillor John Ellis on 01527 570289 or 07504 127668.

The 12th century landmark building, which also has links to Salt King John Corbett, has fallen into a state of disrepair and without the cash there is a good chance that, after more than 800 years, it may have to close.

It needs a variety of work doing to it, particularly to the tower which has become dangerous.
