A GROUP of travellers have now set up camp on the former Dolphin Centre car park off School Drive.
It comes just hours after the police moved a group from the Aston Fields Car Park, having served them with a Section 61 – notice to leave – order.
The barriers which usually prevent access to the car park were broken and in the process of being repaired when the travellers got onto the site.
Because they had not broken onto the site, the police were powerless to remove them this time.
Bromsgrove District Council as owners of the land are responsible for it. Council officers are already on-site beginning legal proceedings to have them removed.
The legal procedure has to be followed in these circumstances and after they have left the barriers will be in place to prevent further incursions.
