A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a critical condition after a crash on the A38 in Rubery.
It happened around 3.15pm on Sunday on the bypass, heading towards the Lydiate Ash M5 island.
The bike involved was a black and red Aprillia RSV which collided with a barrier.
Police say they do not believe any other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance were sent to the scene and found a man in a critical condition.
He was given advanced life support before he was taken to hospital.
The road was closed for several hours while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
Officers want to hear from witnesses or anyone who has dash cam footage of the crash.
