THE MAN arrested after a police raid in Bromsgrove in which 200 cannabis plants were recovered has been charged and remanded in custody.
Dang Phan, who is 27 years old and from Barnfield Close, where the grow was found, was charged with cultivating cannabis.
After appearing at Kidderminster Magistrates Court he was remanded until his next court appearance which will be on January 9.
We reported yesterday how officers from Bromsgrove Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) swooped on the property after receiving intelligence about a possible cannabis grow.
They found around 200 plants in various stages of growth which will now be destroyed.
Insp Richard Field, from the Safer Neighbourhood Team, said the warrant was part of the force’s ongoing work to shut down the distribution of drugs in Bromsgrove.
“The impact of drugs is felt in many ways, such as the exploitation of vulnerable people and an increase in other criminality or anti-social behaviour.
“While some people might think cannabis, for example, is just a bit of recreational fun, those who are supplying and profiting from dealing are often violent and dangerous criminals.”
Anyone with information on growing or selling drugs should contact the Bromsgrove SNT on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
