UPDATE - Alvechurch FC minibus stolen from Tamworth is found by police

THE ALVECHURCH FC minibus which was stolen last week as they played a league match at Tamworth FC has been found.

Police in Wolverhampton discovered the vehicle while they swooped on – and arrested – gang members in Willenhall.

Unfortunately the club are unable to get it back until forensic officers have completed their investigations.

Alvechurch FC said on social media: “We don’t know exactly what state it’s in yet but it’s back!”

The club thanked everyone who shared the appeal.

Upon entering the unit on Watery Lane and searching it, officers recovered six vehicles – the Alvechurch FC minibus, along with others stolen from Wolverhampton, Dudley, Walsall and Birmingham.




Various car parts were also located at the premises with these and the vehicles being seized for further examinations and testing.

Five men at a property were arrested on suspicion of a number of matters, including handling stolen goods, burglary and criminal damage.


Det Insp Lee Medlam from Wolverhampton’s Priority Crime Team said: “Each vehicle was in a different state or awaiting dismantling. But we have been able to notify their owners that they have been located.

“Vehicle crime is a priority for us and we will act to deter and disrupt those how seek to take others property for their own profit.”

The men aged 67, 46, 40, 34 and 33 have been released on police bail as investigations continue.
