AS TEMPERATURES soar residents will be pleased to know two Bromsgrove businesses and one from Rubery have joined the national refill scheme which provides people with free water for their bottles.

‘Phoenix Flooring and Bedrooms’ and ‘The Modern Electric Tattoo Co’ are the latest members of the group which has been promoted by Bromsgrove District Council’s Centre Manager Cheryl Welsh.

Vintage tea room Polly Put the Kettle On in New Road, Rubery, has also signed up to the scheme.

People can use an app to find out places where they can refill their re-usable water bottles for free.

Ms Welsh said the scheme encouraged visitors to go into shops and businesses they would not usually visit.

The scheme is aimed at reducing the use of plastic bottles, improving the environment in the process.
