TRIBUTES have been paid to Bal Chaudhari, a prominent member of the Indian community in Bromsgrove, who died on Friday at the age of 87.
Bal, a beloved father and grandfather, was a proud Bromsgrovian for more than 20 years.
He had a strong sense of civic duty and served on Bromsgrove District Council’s Engagement and Equalities Forum.
He was a regular speaker at key events such as the Holocaust Memorial and a regular contributor to the local newspapers.
Bal was an active member of the Hindu community in the UK and also a founding member of the Bromsgrove Indian Community Forum.
He actively worked towards promoting better harmony among ethnic minorities and the wider community and organised events such as Diwali festivals in sojourn with Bromsgrove Council.
He was well respected by people of all faiths.
His son Pradeep Chaudhari said: ”On behalf of our family we would like to thank everyone who has sent their condolences.
“We have received countless phone calls, messages and kind thoughts and prayers.
“They have both been comforting at this difficult time and also served as a reminder of the impact my father had on so many people.
“He was always there for everyone, family, neighbours, and friends.”
Pradeep said Bal was particularly proud of his achievements and his grandchildren who he showered with praise as they reached key milestones in their life.
They also loved to spend time with him.
He added: “We should celebrate a life that has touched and inspired so many people in a positive way.”
Everyone who wants to pay their respects to Bal Chaudhari is welcome to his funeral which will take place at 10am this Friday, September 16, at Wasleley Hills Crematorium.
