Travellers have set up an illegal encampment on the Austin Social Club car park.

Five caravans arrived late on Monday evening (April 24), allegedly damaging the barrier at the entrance to the car park to gain access.

Staff said the travellers have been issued with a removal notice, giving them 24 hours to leave the private property before certified enforcement officers or ‘bailiffs’ can use reasonable force to remove them.

Staff also confirmed the police have been notified.

In recent months, travellers have also set up camps on two car parks in Bromsgrove, on Sainsbury’s Northfield car park and on two car parks in Rubery – one at the Great Park before moving to a business park nearby.
