TRAVEL ALERT - 'Significant disruption' on A38 in Bromsgrove as Severn Trent works start today

Bromsgrove Editorial 27th Feb, 2023   0

TEMPORARY traffic lights will be in place on the main A38 Birmingham Road in Bromsgrove while Severn Trent water mains pipes are replaced.

The stretch affected is between School Lane and Barnsley Hall Drive and the two-way traffic signals will operate from today (Monday, February 27) to March 17.

New pipes will be installed followed by the abandoning of the old water main which runs under the main A38 carriageway.

Worcestershire Highways said: “”As you can imagine, these works are likely to cause significant disruption, particularly during peak times

“The disruption also has the potential to impact Junction 1 of the M42.

“Please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey or consider an alternative route.”

The next phase will be in Birmingham Road at the junction of Norton Way. Three-way traffic signals will be in place for that between March 20 and March 31.

That is also expected to cause similar significant disruption.

Anyone with queries about these works should call Simon Williams, Avove customer service officer, on 07885 475321, quoting reference 6151636.
