TRAVEL ALERT - Heavy traffic on the M5 near Bromsgrove after serious crash

Bromsgrove Editorial 21st Jan, 2024 Updated: 21st Jan, 2024   0

DRIVERS are being warned that there is heavy traffic on the M5 near Bromsgrove after a serious crash earlier.

The incident happened between Junction 4 (Lydiate Ash) and Junction 4A (for the M42).

The whole carriageway was closed so the emergency services could deal with the incident. It had now been reopened but the heavy congestion still needs to clear.

West Mercia Police has also warned motorists using the M5 and other roads to be on their guard as there is a lot of surface water on carriageways caused by Storm Isha.

The weather front arrived in Worcestershire and Birmingham earlier and there are weather warnings in place from the Met Office for high winds and heavy rain.
