Thrill-seeking Bromsgrove staff set for daring challenges in aid of charity

A GROUP of thrill-seeking colleagues from a Bromsgrove company will be taking on some daring feats for charity this summer.

Ethan Patterson, Barney Ledwidge, Madeline Cull, Olivia Vivien and Sophie Round of AFH Wealth Management will be skydiving this summer to fundraise for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

The group will take the leap this month, jumping from 13,000ft in Brackley, Northamptonshire.

Madeline said: “I’m so pleased to be raising money for such an amazing charity, every single donation helps.

“A skydive is something I have always wanted to do so I can’t wait for the big jump.”

In August, another courageous group from the organisation will take on a bungee jump in support of the hospital.

Halim Mohammed, Sian McGarvey, Simon Robson and Steffi Catell will leap 160ft over Cliff Lakes Waterpark in Birmingham.

Halim said: “In all honesty I am absolutely bricking it already, I can feel my legs shaking in advance of being up in that crane. But it’s a good opportunity to do some fundraising and help those in need.”

AFH has plenty of other events and challenges planned throughout 2025, such as sponsored runs, an employee vs adviser football match, and a place in the sought-after Dragon Boat race in Brindley Place, Birmingham this September.

These courageous feats are part of the firms annual efforts to support charities and good causes. AFH has agreed that if its original target of £12,000 is met by the end of the year, they will match it.

AFH’s customer and employee experience lead, Jenny Read said: “We had no idea we had such a thrill-seeking bunch of people working for us.

Jenny then shared her pride in the courage and determination of her colleagues for taking on the challenges.

Jacintha Spragg, regional fundraiser at Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, added: “We wish all challengers the best of luck.

“The funds they raise will have an incredible impact on our hospital and the experiences of the 100,000 children it treats every single year.”
