THREE men have been jailed after our a converted revolver and ammunition were recovered following a pursuit in south Birmingham.
Jermaine Vassell, Kiyran Delaney, and Rayhan Hurd were sentenced to a combined total of 20 years at Birmingham Crown Court.
The men were stopped after a member of the public contacted West Midlands Police just before midnight on Christmas Eve in 2023 with some vital intelligence about a firearm.
Officers linked two men thought to be involved – Vassell and Delaney – to a car which activated ANPR cameras in south Birmingham.
The car was tracked by firearms officers but it failed to stop for them, and after a short pursuit it was brought to a halt on Quarry Lane in Northfield.

Both Vassell and Delaney tried to escape but were chased and caught by firearms officers.
The driver fled the scene but our investigation later identified him as Hurd.
A search inside the vehicle also found further ammunition.
Sentencing
All three men pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm and ammunition at earlier hearings.
At Birmingham Crown Court Kiyran, aged 21 from Walsall, was sentenced to six years in prison.
Jermaine Vassell, aged 20 of Chaddesley Road, Northfield, was sentenced to eight years in prison.
Yesterday (Tuesday), Rayhan Hurd, aged 26 of Wollescote Forge Mews, Dudley, was sentenced to six years in prison.

DC Sean Grove, from West Midlands Police’s Major Crime Team, said: “This case shows how seriously we take reports of firearms and highlights the work we’re doing to keep the public safe from them.
“From our initial intelligence, brave actions by firearms officers and our extensive investigation – we have taken a dangerous weapon and ammunition off the streets and brought those responsible to justice.”
He urged anyone with information about people with weapons to report it by calling officers on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
