Three ewes stolen from field in Belbroughton

Bromsgrove Editorial 7th Sep, 2020   0

THREE ewes were stolen from a field in Belbroughton.

The theft took place overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday, September 1 and 2, from the land off Galton Lane.

The owner of the sheep also has a farm in Fairfield.

This is the latest in a number of livestock thefts.

In April a ewe which was in a field off Harbours Hill in Fairfield had her throat slit, in nearby Chaddesley Corbett a calf was stolen and two ewes were taken from Frankley Green.

A message has been posted to other farmers to warn them about the incidents in the area.

A spokesperson for Halesowen and Hagley Farmers Club said: “Farmers cannot afford to lose valuable livestock, we appeal to members of the public to be vigilant and to report all suspicious activity.”

Anyone with any information on the incidents should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
