THREE men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died when he was hit by a car.
Police were called to Ormscliffe Road, Rednal, at just before 5.10pm yesterday (Monday, July 21).
A man in his 20s sustained serious injuries and sadly died in hospital last night.
West Midlands Ambulance Service received multiple 999 calls around 5.10pm with reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
An ambulance, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma team and a critical care paramedic were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “A pedestrian, a man, was found to be in a critical condition with multiple injuries when ambulance staff arrived on scene.
“The team worked together to administer advanced life support to the man before conveying him on blue lights and sirens to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
“Sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone, the man was confirmed dead in hospital last night.”
A 28-year-old man was arrested shortly after the car hit the man and a house on the street.
Following enquiries, police arrested two further men, who were both also aged 28.
They all remain in custody for questioning on suspicion of murder.
A scene remains in place while officers continue their enquiries to establish exactly what went on.
West Mercia Police said its thoughts, and support, are with his loved ones at this devastating time.
