THREE people were arrested in Northfield following a murder this afternoon.
Two men were attacked at a house in Cadbury Drive, Castle Bromwich, both sustaining stab wounds. One of the men, despite the best efforts of paramedics, died at the scene while the other was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
The attackers fled in a car which was picked up and tracked by the police helicopter to Chatham Road in Northfield.
There, armed police stopped the vehicle and two men and a woman, were held on suspicion of murder.
Officers say the investigation is still in the early stages but initial indications suggested it was a targeted attack.
Police have already sealed off the scene for forensic examination and started house-to-house enquiries and to trawl through CCTV footage.
