THE COUNTDOWN to this year’s panto at Bromsgrove’s Artrix was officially launched last Friday.
Elite Pantomimes will be bringing its brand new production of Dick Whittington, the traditional family Pantomime paved with gold, to the venue.
Elite Pantomimes is delighted to be supporting the re-opening of the Artrix in Bromsgrove hands and is keen to play a part in the venue’s sustainability, not just as a theatre but as a community hub.
‘Back in Bromsgrove hands’
After being used by The Core in Solihull, Artrix is now run by Bromsgrove Community Arts (BCA) after a short-term agreement until the end of the year was struck with the holding trust.
Executive producer Elliot Clark said; “I used to tour theatre shows to Artrix and always loved it as a performance space, but unfortunately it closed in 2020 and so I had periodically been keeping an eye on the venue until I saw it was being reopened by BCA.
“After a short process I was thrilled to learn we were going to be producing the Christmas pantomime at Artrix and we’re pleased we will be able to offer paid opportunities, both on stage and off stage, to members of the local community as part of our production too.
“Artrix is a really special place and I am excited to be working with BCA to try and ensure the longevity of this amazing community space, but we can’t do it alone – I urge the community to use this fantastic building and to support it by visiting the wide range of events and shows that are being programmed here.”
Tickets for Dick Whittington are now on sale, with many school performances already booked up.
