This year's Bromsgrove Poppy Appeal is officially launched

THIS year’s Bromsgrove Poppy Appeal has been officially launched and details have been released for the Remembrance Sunday parade.

The commemorations on November 14 will begin outside Argos at 10.20am where those taking part in the parade should muster.

Police, church representatives and a standards from a number of organisations will lead the parade from 10.40am, along the High Street and giving an ‘eyes left’ at the Odd Fellows Memorial. The Worcestershire Lord-Lieutenant Representative will be present there with escort.

The parade will continue into Church Street, crossing Market Street to the monument at Crown Close.




Amphlett Hall will be open for anyone to use the facilities and for the less able to watch the parade.

The service will start at 10.55am with the Act of Remembrance at 11am. Road closures will be in place for the duration of the service which should conclude with the wreath-laying around 11.45am.


A short service at 12pm will take place at St John’s Church with a prayer and the laying of two blank wreaths at the First World War and Boer War memorials inside the church, followed by a blessing.

In the event of bad weather the whole service will take place in St John’s Church.
