A COUPLE have brought their famous lights out of retirement after being asked to feature in TV show Britain’s Craziest Christmas Lights.

Finstall residents Wendy and Malcolm Molloy packed away their bulbs after more than 30 years of fundraising.

But following a long break they are back, this time raising money for Primrose Hospice after being contacted by Channel 5 bosses.

Their aim is to raise £2000 before the end of the year.

Malcolm said: “The show prompted us to get up and get decorating, which has taken about six weeks overall.

“We thought that we could take advantage of the opportunity and raise funds for the Primrose.

“After buying more Christmas lights, we set up a Just Giving page and also attached a Santa post box at the end of our drive for cash donations.”

The house is visited by around 50 to 200 people each night,  despite recent bad weather.

Over the years Wendy and Malcolm have raised around £100,000 for various charities.

Primrose Hospice’s fundraising manager, Emma Williams, praised the couple for their ‘spectacular job’.

“Not only will they bring joy to young and old but they will also help support the work we do to help people with life-limiting conditions, their families and bereaved children and adults.”

Or you can visit their address at 22 Alcester Road between 4.30pm and 12am when the lights are on.
