The Primrose Hospice's Lights of Love raised more than £23,000

THE 2018 Primrose Hospice Lights of Love appeal has raised more than £23,000 towards the care for people with life-limiting conditions and their families.

The drive, which is now in its 21st year, gives people the chance to remember a lost loved one by dedicating a light to them on one of the hospice’s Christmas trees.

The names of the remembered are also placed in books at the bases of the trees for friends and families to visit.

Hundreds of people have taken part in three services held in Redditch, Bromsgrove and Rubery and families were able to make dedications in the memorial books.

Emma Williams, the Primrose’s fund-raising manager, said: “Lights of Love is a very special campaign for us at Primrose, it’s an opportunity for family and friends to remember a loved one during the festive period.”

Looking ahead the charity is holding its first ever lantern walk at dusk on February 2 at Hanbury Hall, offering another chance for people to get together with family and friends to remember their loved ones and enjoy a peaceful walk around the National Trust home.
