THE NEW outdoor gym in Sanders Park is now ready for residents to use.
The 13-station ‘Kompan’ fitness area, near the skate park by the top of the newly-landscaped brook, took two weeks to complete and was backed by people who backed it during the park’s 50th anniversary consultation.
It includes a crosstrainer, push up bars, cycle trainer, double chest press, parallel bars, body flexer, upper body trainer, hand bike, stepping pods, magnetic bell weights, and equipment instructions, all in a 14 metre circle of new hard standing.
Coun Peter Whittaker, Bromsgrove District Council’s portfolio holder for leisure services, said: “I hope visitors of all ages will be able to have fun and get fit here. It’s great to be celebrating the opening of new equipment, particularly in light of October’s half term vandalism debacle.
“I think we all want our parks and play areas to get the respect they deserve as public facilities that are for everyone in the community.”
