THE CROSS Inn in Finstall has been named the ‘Pub of the Season’ by the Redditch and Bromsgrove branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).

It comes just five months after the ‘asset to the local community’ venue was reopened by Black Country Ales which took it over.

Since then the pub has proved popular with regulars and ale-lovers journeying there from further afield.

Licensee Ryan Carr said it was an honour to receive the award and he paid tribute to his hard-working team.

“I know I’m biased but I haven’t seen many better.

“We are honoured to receive this award.

“Ale is such a huge factor of what we are trying to do here at The Cross and to be recognised for it in such a way makes all the hard work seem worth it.

“Thank you to our local branch of CAMRA and to all our customers which make this such a fantastic pub.

“I don’t see why this award cant be the first of many.”
