AN INSIGHT into how those with Parkinson’s could be motivated to play sport was given to Bromsgrove’s Walking Sports team on Saturday.

It was part of Sport Parkinson’s Try-Athlon.

Bromsgrove Walking Sports Centre founder Alan Gormley said: “We all had an amazing experience in so many ways – it was both inspirational and humbling.”

He added it was an honour for the centre to be part of the national event, fantastic to play on the Worcester Warriors pitch and to see so many people give up their time to help with the event.

Other highlights included meeting Mike Tindall and seeing the team hosted on the Astroturf at Bromsgrove, Cricket, Hockey and Tennis Club, win the Parkinson’s Football Tournament.

Alan said: “It was a really worthwhile event where we offered a taste of four walking sports to people with our friends from Worcester Warriors Community Foundation.”
