Sutton Brothers back at The Golden Lion 'for one night only' to launch defib drive

A DUO who performed a show at a Charford pub 15 years ago is returning for one night only to raise funds for a defibrillator for the venue.

The Sutton Brothers will take centre stage next Saturday, December 28, at the Golden Lion which is currently collecting cash for the life-saving device.

John Sutton, the Golden Lion’s new landlord, is one half of the act with his brother Karl, also from Bromsgrove, the other member.

John runs the pub with Emma Wright and have been making wholesale changes to the pub, providing weekly entertainment and re-opening the kitchen for the first time in six years.

John said: “We have various events happening over Christmas and new year for the AED (automated external defibrillator).

“Back in 2002 we did our first show and it was a great success.

“We went on for two years doing various gigs from pubs clubs and weddings, before retiring around 2004.”

The set will include music from the Blues Brothers and covers of music by George Michael, Queen and Elton John.

Admission is free with donations being requested to kick off the fund-raising drive.
