AN INFORMATIVE event about the upcoming digital landline switchover will be held at Amphlett Hall in Bromsgrove between 12.30pm and 4pm on August 5.

BT representatives will be on hand to speak to people about the changes which will mean the traditional analogue landline phones will no longer work.

This could also impact older and vulnerable people who have a care alarm, health pendant or security alarm which uses the telephone line and those who do not have a mobile phone.

People with disabilities and other needs may need extra help with the installation.

The event is open to both older and vulnerable people and their relatives.

The one-to-one sessions are aimed at addressing people’s individual questions and concerns regarding the digital landline switchover, focusing on solutions being offered by BT and other companies.

The approaches of of Virgin Media, Talk Talk and other providers will also be detailed.

On-site parking is limited at Amphlett Hall but more is available at nearby car parks at Asda and Waitrose.
