STORM FRANKLIN UPDATES - Fallen trees blocking roads in Bromsgrove district and Cross City rail line

THE HIGH winds this evening have led to fallen trees and disruption to roads and railways in Bromsgrove and the surrounding areas.

ROADS

A tree is blocking the A448 between Mustow Green and  Bromsgrove. Police officers are currently on scene with a tree surgeon.

Two more trees are half blocking A450 by Barnetts Hill nursey between Hackman’s Gate and Mustow Green.

A fallen tree has blocked Littleheath Lane, Lickey End, Bromsgrove, by the nursery. A Worcestershire Highways crew are en route.




Fallen tree at Dark Lane/Galtons Lane, Belbroughton. Worcestershire Highways are aware.

Old Rectory Lane in Alvechurch is blocked by a fallen tree. Worcestershire Highways are heading there as soon as they can.


RAIL

A fallen tree between Longbridge and Redditch mean there are currently no services between those changes.

West Midlands Railway said that will be the case until at least 8pm.

POWER CUTS

A total of 64 properties in Hopwood are currently without electricity after a power cut.

The power was lost around 2pm and, with Western Power Distribution engineers on the scene, should be restored by around 6.30pm.
