Staggering turn to first Bromsgrove Netball League session

Bromsgrove Editorial 19th Nov, 2022   0

WITHIN the space of two weeks, an astonishing 90 women signed up for Bromsgrove Netball League and have begun playing weekly matches.

The group – formed little under two weeks ago – was made to help get Bromsgorve women back into the sport by running relaxed matches.

Adam Glover, Area Manager for Netball League, said: “I knew there was a gap in the area for ladies to back into the sport, but to get numbers like we got – I did not expect that.

“To get these numbers are amazing.”

The sessions are designed for people who may not have played the game for years and wish to keep active in other ways than going to the gym.

Now, nearly 100 women have signed up and will be playing in the next two-hour session.

“What I have found is that mums who have children can then struggle to get back into the sport or struggle to find time to do it.

“Some might not have played for 20 to 30 years, but this is a space for all abilities.”

Sessions run every Wednesday at North Bromsgrove High School between 7pm and 9pm and are for anyone over the age of 16 years.

People are being recommended to sign up before attending so they can be allocated to a team, which they will then play with for the season.
