STAFF at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital (ROH) in Northfield are being given a ‘wellbeing day’ as a small token of thanks for their hard work during the pandemic.
It will be a day for staff to take a break and look after their mental and physical health.
That could mean going for a walk, taking a long nap, doing yoga or however they choose to spend it.
In a message to all staff, chief executive Jo Williams said: “It’s not been an easy year for any of us.
“But as we become more hopeful about being able to do the things we most enjoy, I would like to say a big thank you for your continued loyalty and commitment to ROH.
“We know it’s been a challenging year for everyone and you have been, and continue to be, incredible.
“From the early days of the pandemic, right through to now, you have all given so much.”
Staff will be able to take the day between now and March 2022, giving them over a year to enjoy an extra day of annual leave.
In-house counselling has also been offered to staff, as well as a wealth of online discounts which prioritise their health.
