THE ROAD closures for Worcester and Kidderminster’s 2026 St George’s Day parade have been revealed.

Kidderminster

The temporary road closures and traffic management measures are taking place between 9.30am and 1.30pm on Sunday to accommodate the St George’s Day parade.

Similar parades will also be taking place in Worcester and Pershore.

These annual events are led by local Scout and Guide groups.

A rolling road closure system will be in operation, meaning no individual road will be closed for longer than 30 minutes at a time.

Affected roads include New Road, Coventry Street and Oxford Street.

Motorists are advised to expect short delays while the parade passes through and to plan ahead.

Worcester

The temporary road closures and traffic management measures are taking place between 1pm and 4.30pm on Sunday to accommodate the St George’s Day parade.

Similar parades will also be taking place in Kidderminster and Pershore.

These annual events are led by local Scout and Guide groups.

Full road closures in the city centre on Angel Place, from Angel Street to Broad Street, as well as Bank Street, Broad Street, Church Street, Mealcheapen Street, Pump Street and The Shambles.

There will also be a road closure in place on the High Street, including Cathedral Square.

Temporary traffic control measures will be in place on St Swithin’s Street, outside NatWest Bank, to allow the parade to safely move between Broad Street and High Street.

The pedestrian crossing on Deansway, adjacent to Cathedral Square, will be manually operated to ensure the parade moves safely to and from the cathedral.

To minimise disruption, and following a successful trial in 2025, the parade will once again be split into two sections.

This measure was introduced after extended traffic delays were experienced in 2024.
