St Basils Bistro gets 5 star hygiene rating

THE NEW St Basils Bistro based at the POD on Humphrey Avenue in Charford is celebrating after receiving a five star hygiene rating.

St Basils Bistro is open Tuesday-Friday 9am till 4pm serving a selection of hot and cold food and snacks.

All proceeds from the cafe go towards the charity’s commitment to ending youth homelessness.

The Bistro is operated primarily by volunteers providing opportunities to gain experience in the hospitality & catering sector.




Vicky Leaning St Basils Bistro coordinator said: “It is a great achievement for us to have been scored 5 stars, it confirms the dedication and hard work of all our volunteers and partners.

“The POD is a fantastic facility run by Bromsgrove District Housing Trust with so many groups involved and activities taking place.”


Jane Jefferson, team leader for St Basils Bromsgrove said “A huge congratulations to Vicky and her volunteers for the hard work they have put in over recent weeks to achieve 5 stars on their first hygiene inspection”.

Coun Kyle Daisley County Councillor for Bromsgrove South said: “I would like to congratulate all the volunteers at St Basils Bistro for their amazing efforts and commitment.

“I would strongly encourage all members of the community to pop into the Bistro and experience the true community spirit that comes across. St Basils Bistro is built on building strong community partnerships at the same time as supporting the work of St Basils”.
