BROMSGROVE Sporting have paid tribute to former midfielder Thomas Rankin who tragically died on Sunday (March 27) aged 26.
Redditch United announced the shocking news of Rankin’s death on Sunday just 24 hours after he had played in their league game against AFC Rushden and Diamonds.
Sporting released a statement last night which read: “We are hugely saddened by the untimely passing of Tom Rankin.
“Our thoughts are with his family at this time.
“Tom debuted for Sporting on 13/4/2013 vs Walsall Wood as a sub. He subsequently returned for seasons 2018-19 and 2019-2020. He made 14 appearances, 5 as a sub, and scored 1 goal.”
