Spooky (but Covid-safe) goings-on at Avoncroft Museum this Halloween

THERE will be spooky – but Covid-secure – goings-on at Avoncroft Museum next Saturday, October 31, for an annual Halloween night with a difference.

Much-loved Fright Nights have proved a firm favourite in recent years but the event has had to be adapted this year because of the pandemic.

Visitors can make their way around the dark mysterious outdoor museum between 6pm and 9pm to learn about Midlands’ haunting stories.

It is also a rare opportunity to see Avoncroft’s buildings as they would have been when occupied at night.

Nick Sturgess, acting deputy director, said: “The Covid-19 pandemic continues to hit us really hard and in the interest of public safety we felt we could no longer do Fright Nights in their usual popular format this year.

“However, we don’t want people to miss out on an Avoncroft Halloween experience of some sort, so we’ve created Ghost Night as a Covid-19 safe replacement.”

Admission is just £5 to the museum which shocases life in the Midlands from the 1500s.
